Welcome all! Today I am very excited to announce that I have my first guest post from a friend of mine, Sarah Rhomberg!
Sarah Susanna Rhomberg is a teen, who lives in Europe and is fluent in both English and German. When not writing, you will often find her reading or working on the organization of a camp for children - always with a mug of herbal tea at hand. Sarah wants to live her life for Christ and writes to glorify Him. Connect with her through her email list here

So, without further ado, here it is...
Dear Writer: Don’t Give Up
by Sarah Susanna Rhomberg
Writing: Speaking truth through the written word.
Writing: Painting colorful pictures in black and white.
Writing: Drawing readers into the world in your mind.
If you’re a writer, you can probably agree with me that writing is one of the most amazing things there is. Just the thought of speaking truth, painting images and capturing readers is exhilarating.
But… if we’re honest, writing isn’t all butterflies and fairies.
Writing is Hard
Don’t get me wrong. I love writing. If I could, I’d write all day. And putting words on paper (or on a screen) isn’t what’s so difficult. What’s difficult is actually making that writing good. Producing good writing is hard work. No question about that.
You lack inspiration. You wrote yourself into a corner. You realize your character is flat.
There are so many things that can be difficult when writing, and that is only mentioning the problems in your WIP (Work in Progress).
To add to it: self-doubt, time-management, lack of motivation.
Does that seem depressing?
Let Me Encourage You: Your Words Matter.
Writing may be hard, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. On the contrary. The things that do not come easily, are often the things most valuable.
Got it? “Too hard” is not a good excuse.
A writer-friend of mine was going through a lot emotionally and mentally. Forming sentences, stringing words together, was grueling work. Did it stop her? No.
She continued writing, even though it was hard. Very hard. Her writing was a lot slower than it had been before, but she was not willing to give up.
My friend knew that if God asks you to do something, you have to do it, no matter what. My friend knew that God could and would use her words to encourage others. And, my friend knew that by continuing despite it being hard, she would grow closer to Jesus Christ.
Don’t give up!
Yes, writing may be hard, but isn’t it the hard things in life that are worth the most?
Your words matter. They can make a difference in someone’s life. If you are writing what God wants you to write, your words can change the world.
Blessings,
Shay
